COUNTRY SINGLES
28th Feb & 1st March 2026 Although the name suggests this is a country event any one can enter. It is just held in Bunbury, at Moorabinda and Bunbury Central if needed. There was A, B & C block with some new faces in the mix. It was 19 point timed games and some very tight games ensured. There was strong winds on Saturday which added to the difficulty. NARROGIN VALENTINE DOUBLES
14th -15th February 2026 Narrogin took over the Valentine Doubles from Albany who had held it for many years previous. There was a very good field with 17 pairs, which was divided into 2 blocks. The bowling club allowed Narrogin the use of a spare lawn green which gave them 4 courts. Ellen Sprigg played with Sue Lupton from Narrogin and the had a couple of wins and lots of fun

AC STATE MIXED DOUBLES
14th -15th February 2026 There was 6 pairs for this event played at Como. It was a very tight competition going down to the last game to pick a winner which was Judith Nicholls and Alan Sands going through undefeated. Dawn Robinson and David Squires where runner-up. The other pairs where Tim Burges & Megan Fardon, Robyn Dart & Gary Phipps, Jeff Newcombe & Jen Brand and Dianne Bower and Marcus McGavish.

CA PRESIDENT'S 8
6th -8th February 2026. Seven players from WA ventured over to Melbourne for this prestigious event. There is 4 blocks of 8. Block A wins the event but there is a winner and runner-up for each block. The WA contingent was spread over the 4 blocks Brett Mc Hardy Block A, Janine McHardy & Robyn Dart Block B, Joyce Carbone & Jen Brand Block C and Dianne Bower & Jenifer Rechter Block D. SW AC SINGLES BUSSELTON
26th January 2026 This inaugural event was well received by players of the South West. We had 8 players in the singles knockout competition. The blocks were named after the famous Macpherson Robertson who instigated the first MacRobertson shield in 1925 between England and Australia, The main block was Old Gold won by Ian Dumergue with Kim Reynolds runner-up Snack block for 3rd & 4th was won by David Squires from Mick Wood. STATE AC WOMEN & MEN SINGLES
17th & 18th January 2026 There were 6 players in each group which allowed 5 games to be played over the weekend. Players predominately from Moorabinda and Busselton. Most of the State team played giving a lead up to the Eire Cup in April. Dianne Bower was called to fill in at the last moment and played really well to win 2 games. BUSSELTON COMMUNITY CROQUET
6th Nov to 11th Dec 2025 This was an inaugural event for Busselton Croquet. It consisted of 8 pairs who had not played croquet before, coming in Thursday evenings for 6 week to learn enough about the game of Croquet to participate in a mini competition followed by a Hamburger to round out the night. AC State Doubles
Busselton hosted the AC state doubles on the weekend, for the third year. With 7 teams entered, it made for a tight draw, with all teams playing each other. 4 games on Saturday saw play going well into the early evening. Winners Gary Phipps (Moorabinda) and Marty Clarke (Pinjarra) went through undefeated, from runners up Megan Fardon (East Fremantle) and Tim Barkes (Gosnells).

CROQUETWEST STATE AC DIV 2
24th -25th November 2025. It was pleasing to see 11 players entering this event at Halls Head. There was a round robin of 2 blocks and then a final at the end to to declare a winner. There was some very close games with a few going to golden hoop. Megan Reynolds and Bernie Lynch went through without losing a game. which made for an exciting final. Neither player could get a clear advantage playing hoop for hoop. Megan was ahead with 2 hoops when timer went off.

GOSNELLS ONE DAY SINGLES.
15th & 16th November. This event is a bit different as you can one day or two days. A prize is given for both days. On Saturday there was 8 players and they all played a round robin against each other but also played for there own division. A grade winner was Torben Bak with Joyce Carbone runner up. 1st & 2nd November 2025. This is a country players only event and as such had 23 players from various country clubs. Busselton was represented by Dianne Bower and Robyn Dart. There were 3 Divisions A, B, & C and the games were played as a round robin. There was a good crowd of spectators encouraging the stiff competition. SW B GRADE PENNANTS
2nd October - 7 November 2025 There were 3 teams represented in the Pennants, Busselton, Dunsborough and Moorabinda. There was great rivalries between the teams to whom would finish 0n top. It was unfortunate that Bunbury Central couldn't field a team maybe next y ear. The last game of the season was Busselton playing Dunsborough and Dunsborough needed the win to knock Moorabinda off top spot. At the end of 12 games it was neck and neck 6 games apiece and 65 hoops each. Sad

SW C GRADE PENNANTS
16th September - 31 October 2025 There were 4 teams competing in the C Grade Pennants, Bunbury Central, Busselton, Dunsborough and Moorabinda. Busselton's team consisted of some new members and some more seasoned players. The competition was tough and some of the games went down to the wire. Moorabinda was the stand out team that to won their 6 tests, Dunsborough coming 2nd with 3 wins & 3 losses, Bunbury Central 2 wins and 4 losses and Busselton 1 win 5 losses.

BUSSELTON SPRING TOURNAMENT
25th - 26th October 2025. This very popular event was held on the weekend in very sunny conditions. There were 17 pairs participating in 2 blocks, with a strong contingent from Busselton of 10 players. Gil and Rick went through unbeaten until the play-off when they went down to Anthony and Dani Nelson. We had to wait until the finish of the games for the positions to become clear as to who was playing in the finals. Three pairs on both sides scored the same amount of games

BUSSELTON RICOCHET
24th October 2025 This was the first Ricochet competition run by Busselton Croquet Club. It was a fun day with 6 pairs participating. There were 5 games in the day timed at 1 hour 15 minutes. The top 3 pairs all won 4 games and lost 1 so it came down to hoops which Bernie & Michael from Halls Head won with 21 hoops, Wendy & Anthony had 12 hoops and Dianne & Robyn had 10 hoops.

SA AC TUMBY BAY
15th - 20th October 2025. 3 players from Busselton Club ventured to Tumby Bay in South Australian to play in the Doubles and Singles Event of Association. There were 4 blocks in the Doubles in which they randomly draw players names teaming up a weak player with a stronger player. Kim, Megan and Dianne were all in different blocks. JANINE MCHARDY TROPHY
11th -12th October 2025. This was the inaugural event run by Croquetwest and named The Janine McHardy event after Janine who has done an enormous amount of work for Croquet. It was an all female event the only other event for women besides the Woman's singles in WA. There were 15 entrants which speaks for itself that women want this type of competition and the high regards they have for Janine. GEOGRAPHE CHALLENGE
4th October 2025. Once again this prestigious award went to Dunsborough for the second time in a row. Dunsborough were so confident of winning they didn’t even bring the Trophy with them. As usual the games were played in good spirits with lots of bantering along the way. The standard of play in both sides have really improved over the last 12 months which is great to see.
