With a smaller field than usual it was decided to play 19 point games.

All State Team members were required to play with their doubles player and third member from the support squad, which made a tough field. The winners of the event

John Jury, Bob James and John Bird didn't lose a test match. Runners-up Dianne Bower, Robyn Dart and Gary Phipps lost one test match and the third team was

Jenny Brand, Jenifer Rechter and Chris McWhirter who lost 2 test matches.
