WA STATE OPEN SINGLES

There were 16 players hoping for the honour of being WA's no 1.

Conditions were forecasted to be wet and windy. Two blocks of 8

had a single round robin and the top 4 of each block conntinued in the

knockout and the bottom 8 would play the plate.

There were some very tight best of three and it was interesting to note that

the top 2 from both blocks actually ended up playing for 5th to 8th.

The final between Colin Stewart and Carl Robertson was one of best

games I have seen these two play. The first 2 games timed out with Carl in front

5/4. the 1st and Colin 6/5 in the 2nd which then went to the 3rd were Colin was able to dominate and win 7/4. Third was Robyn Dart.
